 Course   Objectives:

-   By the end of this course the student will be able to:-

-   Define pathology and its branches

-   Identify the Causes and mechanisms of diseases.

-   Explain Chemical structural and functional changes during the disease process

Content:

     Physiology of the cell

-         Characteristics, classification and incidence of disease

-         Etiology and complications of the diseases.

-         Reversible and irreversible cell injury.

-         Ischemia and infarction - Cell death and apoptosis-Cellular. Adaptation- hypertrophy, atrophy, hyperplasia and hypoplasia.

-         Aging- Etiological classification of the diseases.

-         Congenital, acquired diseases.

-         physical, chemical, genetic and biological causes of the diseases

-         Inflammation-acute inflammation-chronic inflammation.

-         Healing and regeneration.-Endocrine diseases-Immune disorders
